Sometimes there will be unfortunate smells (usually sewage) coming from different drains in your home. The first course of action for most people is to clean around the area where the smell came from; hoping it will alleviate the horrid smell. However this does not resolve the issue as the smell comes back once the cleaning products have settled.
Many people wonder why their drain smells and how they can eliminate this problem. A smelly drain can be a number of issues from a buildup of gunk in the drain, the lack of usage of that specific drain (guest bathroom) or a potentially larger plumbing and drain issue such as clogged vents. Sometimes these issues can be resolved by the homeowner but it is generally a wiser choice to have a plumber out to the home and they can correctly diagnose the problem and come up with the best possible solution.
No one wants to live in a house that smells like sewage so instead of suffering through the stench, get an experienced plumber out to your home and have the problem solved quickly. Your nose will thank you in the end.
